Covert Hypnosis Training–The Art of Using Pacing Statements To Get The Things You Want
It cannot be denied that “pacing statements” are part of the most powerful pieces of the linguistic trickery that resides in covert hypnosis. If you are able to effectively pace a person’s reality, you will quickly be able to guide them into the type of reality that you want to guide them into. Think of pacing as a foundation that covert hypnosis can be built upon. In order to get the full potential out of pacing statements, you should use both opening and closing pacing statements.
You use opening pacing statements when you start a conversation with a person. The way to use opening pacing statements is to tell your targets facts that they know are true. As you tell them or remind them of things they think of to be true, they must agree with you because what you are telling them is part of their reality. Then, after two or three effective opening pacing statements, you open to give them suggestions that are spellbinding so that they will start to follow your guide as a result of the pacing statements you started the dialog with.
The essence of hypnosis lies behind the power of suggestion, so even though you could go directly into giving your targets suggestions in the opening of the conversation, it is far better to lay the spellbinding foundation of pacing first. This means that no matter how unrealistic your suggestions may appear, that they will be buried within your target’s reality so that your target cannot deny them.
Another trick that you can use to layer your opening pacing statements with more strength is to use closing pacing statements. By telling your target a closing pacing statement, your suggestion will be “nested” inside of your conversation pieces. This means that soon after you’ve giving a suggestion to your target you can then go into a closing pacing statement that will make your suggestion even stronger. So, you start with a pacing statement that your target believes is true, then you slide a suggestion in, and then you go back to pacing your target’s reality so that they have an exceptionally difficult time arguing with anything you are telling them.
You also are able to use closing pacing statements as hypnosis techniques to transition into new topics so that the closing pacing statements become set ups for unique suggestions that relate to different topics.Covert hypnosis is full of linguistic trickery that often involves pacing statements. And what makes pacing statements so influential is that they pace your target’s reality so that they can be used on anyone to make them think anything.
