Estimates show that about three fourths of us are subjected to stress at least once every two-week cycle. And about three eighths – about 40 percent – of the general population go through moderate to extreme stress once a week! That adds up to millions and millions of people for whom stress is the norm. There’s no question about it – life is generally filled with stress. Miscellaneous factors at home and work are great contributors to daily stress. In the Western hemisphere, work, specifically, is a leading cause of stress. However, there are several ways that are useful in eliminating stress.

Stress plays a large part in the proliferation of heart disease, strokes and high blood pressure. To top it off, stress can weaken one’s immune system and lead to an inability to ward off diseases that can normally be avoided.
