Common Hypnosis Myths

December 4th, 2009 by Harry Osbourne

I am going to speak for a few minutes about the notion that hypnosis may not be real. For years and years there have been a lot of arguments both for and against hypnosis. Scientists often claim that it is lacking in good solid proof.

The biggest myth regarding hypnosis is that once you have woken from your hypnotic state, you will not be able to recall anything from it. In reality though this is very rare, it is down to the hypnotist whether you forget anything.

There is also a claim that hypnosis can help improve your memory. For example, people say that if you are hypnotised it can help you to recall a crime you were witness to that you may have repressed away. But, as mentioned above, hypnosis can make you lose your memory, not get it back.

A further example of hypnosis myths is that it can push your athleticism, which has been fuelled by the media. However, hypnosis will never make people stronger than they already are, so when normal people hear of athletes doing it they want to get it too, to achieve the same results, but this just wouldn’t work.

There are a lot of things that hypnosis can be use for however. The most common reason for people turning to hypnosis is for weight loss reasons. If someone is on a diet and avoiding sugary snacks it is natural for them to want the sweet tasting foods that they miss. They therefore turn to hypnosis to help them with their cravings.

The most popular form of hypnosis is definitely conversational hypnosis. This is very clever as it works by a person talking to another in a style that will make them see the person points of view as their own – this is very common amongst hypnotists on TV.

There are many conversational hypnosis courses being sold these days throughout the internet. Some of them are very informative for beginners and with the correct amount of dedication to learning a complete newbie can grow to an intermediate level of hypnosis skills. Unfortunately because there is a market for these kinds of courses it has also paved the way for some bogus products from people that are looking to make some quick money from a hungry market.

If you want to find out more about conversational hypnosis then click on the link and check out my website. On it there is detailed information about a hypnosis course.

Surgery and Smoking

November 14th, 2009 by Patrick Glancy, BCH

Surgery is complicated enough without all the side effects. Typically there are pages of consent forms to sign listing everything that could go wrong. Surgery, whether elective or required is something many will face at some point in their lives. Patients should understand many complications can not be foreseen. However there is one complication that can be avoided and it is in the patient’s control and that is smoking.

Surgery is something many patients will face at some point in their lives, whether elective or required. There are certain protocols in place for patients to follow before surgery such as no food twelve hours before surgery and nothing to drink. However, many physicians and anesthesiologists require their patients to quit smoking for at least two weeks before and after surgery.

According to Anesthesiologyinfo.com, smoking does two things to the cardiovascular system which causes many problems for the anesthesiologist and surgeon. By smoking the patient is increasing the carbon monoxide which attaches to the hemoglobin in the blood which will decrease oxygen in the blood. Nicotine will increase the amount of oxygen the body needs putting a stress on the heart and body. The heart will not function properly because of the increased carbon monoxide and blood will not get where it needs to.

The lungs also prone to collapse because the small airways do not function as they should because of smoke and nicotine. Smoking causes more mucus production and the lungs are not able to clear it as quickly as they should, making the patient more prone to serious lung infections such as pneumonia and chronic coughing. Bronchospsams and other infections in the lungs can be fatal and should be taken seriously. Smoking has been linked to dozens of other side effects, ranging from heart attacks to poor wound healing by as many as six times more in smokers versus non smokers.

A successful surgery is something all doctors wish for their patients. Doctors do not want their patient to have complications before, during or after surgery. This is why they ask for smokers to at least take a break before going under any anesthesia. Making smoking secession a top priority is something all patients should be doing, regardless if they are having surgery or not. The ultimate goal should be to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Over the years, quitting has become easier. This is mainly attributed to more easily available treatments. Some of the most common treatments are found over the counter, such as the nicotine patch and gum. Some patients choose to try homeopathic treatments such as herbal remedies, acupuncture and hypnosis. Prescription drugs such as Zyban and Wellbutrin have gained popularity as well. Often treatments are combined so the patient can be as successful as possible.

The most important thing to do is talk with your physician to discuss your options and find out which plan will suit you best. Since there are many choices and options available to help you quit, there can be no more excuses. Do not wait until you need major surgery before trying to quit, quit before you get there.

Healthy Food Choices Becoming More Common

November 14th, 2009 by Sara Mendez

This generation will forever be known as the XXL generation. However, the American public wants the next generation to be different and they are prepared to do something about it. Almost every restaurant is now offering healthy options and disclosing their top secret nutritional information. Public schools are replacing soda machines and recreating the cafeteria food. Positive attitudes toward exercise with multiple health benefits are being implemented at gyms. Organic foods and local markets are also giving big chains a run for their money. It is time for America to fight obesity on person at a time.

Popular restaurants and fast food chains are offering healthy substitutions for some of their most popular menu items. Wendy’s and Subway were some of the first to offer substitutions for children and adults. At Wendy’s a salad can replace fries for no extra charge. For a kid’s meal, parents can order their children a fruit cup and milk instead of fries and a soda. Subway also has raisins and apples in place of chips. Fatburger recently changed from vegetable oil to soy bean oil to fry their foods therefore reducing the amount of trans fat being served. Fatburger will also start using the leanest beef possible in all of their burgers and they are now offering a Boca patty (soy based meatless patty) substitute for all their burgers according to prleap.com. Even sit down restaurants such as Applebee’s are jumping on the band wagon by offering Weight Watcher friendly menu items.

In past years many restaurants did not disclose their nutritional information, but after a large public out cry, fast food and sit down restaurants relented. Now the nutritional information can be found anywhere from their internet websites, pamphlets in the place, or on the actual container such as McDonald’s fries carton.

Americans not only saw a problem with the restaurant industry but in their schools as well. Consumers asked for the governments help in fighting obesity and during the 2006-2007 school year, every district in America had a goal to obtain. This goal was to implement a better nutrition and increase activity levels according to aappolicy.org, and nearly every school accomplished this. Soda machines, snack machine and pizza were removed from every district from preschool to high school. They have been replaced by water, fruit and a salad bar. Kids can no longer sell junk food for clubs during school hours and all the cafeterias are required to serve balanced meals.

Organic is the new black. In the last ten years, local farmers have more than doubled. Organic products appeals to the new health conscious America on many levels. Consumers want to know where their food is coming form and if it has been chemically treated. When buying food from local farmers, it gives the consumer control and they can find out where the food has come from and what it has been exposed to.

Organic foods are also here to stay! In the last ten years, local farmers have more than doubled. Consumers want to know where their food is coming form and if it has been chemically treated. When buying food from local farmers, it gives the consumer control, they can find out where the food has come from and what it has been exposed to.

Many consumers are also adopting a new type of “diet” called flexitarianism according to CNN.com. Dietitians are defining these dieters as those who eat mainly fruits and vegetables but also eat protein but only three days per week such as chicken, lean beef and fish. It is a diet which is low in saturated fat and high in fiber. Those who follow this diet have lower risk of stroke, diabetes, and heart attack.

America is ready to make a stand. Obesity causes stress for individual families, the pubic and healthcare providers. Of course there will be those out there who love eating their greasy pizzas and triple Whoppers. But for those who do not want to gain hundreds of pounds, there are now options. People are now given the choice when the once did not have one and America responded and healthy living is taking over.

Weight Loss-A New You

November 13th, 2009 by Patrick Glancy, BCH

Losing weight can easily be attained if you go about it the right way. Obesity in America is at an all time high. According to the CDC, in 2006 only four states had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%. There are many reasons people gain weight, it could be snacking, portion issues, or food addiction. For all the reasons people gain weight, there are just as many reasons to lose weight.

Everyone could benefit from knowing what a proper portion is. Every time you eat at a restaurant, you are greeted by large unrealistic portions. Take a “dinner salad” for example, it can contain two portions instead of the implied single portion. By eating more portions than you should can obviously cause you to gain weight.

Snacking between meals can be another problem. Some people deal with their emotions by snacking. Think about times you may have been snacking, were you nervous, were you bored or maybe you were stressed. These emotional connections often cause you to turn to food and snack when you are not hungry. Once you learn to control these feelings and can identify the triggers associated with them, you will find weight loss easy to attain.

Food addiction is an issue that is finally making its way into the forefront of weight gain. People who are food addicts are usually completely out of control and unable to know if they are truly hungry or simply having a craving. Often times, food addicts have become so because of a habit. Once you address this habit, you are able to regain control and focus this energy on something else such as weight loss and exercise. Unfortunately people who suffer from this have a hard time identifying this as the source of their weight gain.

Hypnosis has proven to be a highly effective tool in the battle of the bulge. Hypnosis is not a short term fix, many have experienced long term success because hypnosis deals with the actual triggers and attachments to food that could hold you back with other short term plans. It is difficult to figure out why you over eat, make bad food choices or snack without help. Hypnosis can help with this by looking at learned behaviors. This treatment deals with all the behaviors you are unable to deal with through regular diet and exercise.

After your first session you will instantly feel rejuvenated and energized. Hypnosis helps you to crave other things such as exercise, healthy food and other activities. Your energy will return to allow you to find joy in new activities and hobbies. You will feel more happy and relaxed that you are doing something about your problem instead of doing nothing at all. You will no longer feel the need to eat unhealthy things and sit at home on the couch feeling helpless.

Think about how different you life could be in just a few short sessions. Think of all the things you could be doing instead of eating. You need to find a pan that fits with you and your lifestyle. Don’t allow yourself to be one more in the obesity epidemic, be a better healthier you. There is no time like to present to make a decision to change you life. There are plans out there than can help you, make your choice.

Imagine: You with Less Stress

November 13th, 2009 by Sara Mendez

Relaxation plays in a key roll in leading a healthy happy life. Without relaxation it is difficult to stay on task, make good decisions, and be productive. Relaxation also has many physical benefits which include lower blood pressure, reduce muscle tension, and increased blood flow to muscle groups to name a few. Some people think relaxation takes hours, but relaxation can take place in as little as ten minutes a day.

Work, marriage and money are just a few things which can cause stress in peoples day to day lives. Often people get so busy and think they have no time to relax. They can also be fooled into thinking that they need to do something extreme or go someplace such as going on vacation to relax. These people are mistaken, relaxation can happen at home, in the office or while driving. The key is to train the mind to relax.

Finding your method of relaxation might be more difficult for some than others, but it is easy, just think about what you enjoy most. Maybe you like surfing the web, reading, meditating or walking. Any of these activities can be a relaxation method and can be scaled down to ten minutes.

Watching TV, listening to music, surfing the web and reading all offer a break from regular day to day situations. They each create an alternative world that is entirely your own. Your mind visually escapes into a place that is different and exciting instead of dull, boring and always the same as so many of us think our lives are.

Meditation can help you learn to control your body’s reaction to stress through reflection and deep breathing exercises. These techniques must be learned and practiced regularly to insure maximum results. You can achieve full relaxation through ten minutes of meditation, and most people have ten minutes to spare in their busy lives.

The gym, fitness classes and general exercise appeal to many as a form of relaxation. You have a choice between running, walking or lifting weights. Others might prefer group fitness in the form of a cycling, kick boxing or tai chi class. Running and walking burn off built up energy and are a great stress reliever, however not everyone wants to run a marathon. For them there are other classes and their purpose is relaxation, such as yoga which focuses on relaxing the mind and body at once. Many people choose to skip the classes and gym all together and simply walk their dogs in the park which offers equally as much stress relief.

The most important thing to remember when it comes to relaxation is practice. It is important to have patience! Listen to your mind and body, learn what is working for you and make note of what is not. Keep yourself motivated by remembering you are on your way to a happier and healthier lifestyle, also remember how good it feels to be doing something enjoyable.

Teaching your body something new is always a challenge, however once you get the hang of it, it is like riding a bike, your body won’t forget how. It is important to find an activity which you enjoy and know you will stick with, but you must make a conscious effort to remind and train your body to relax while performing this task. It may take time, but in the end the rewards will be fantastic for your mind, body and lifestyle.

The Power Of Conversational Hypnosis Review

November 13th, 2009 by Alison Travis

This is going to be about a hypnosis course called the power of conversational hypnosis. It is a course that is designed to teach normal people the art of hypnosis without any prior experience.

The first thing that you will probably notice on the sales page for The Power of Conversational Hypnosis is its long length. There is a reason for this though, it contains a list of everything that you receive when you buy the program and this is all correct – you get lots of different info.

However, I feel that it is important that I should note at this stage that this conversational hypnosis course is not a crash course – you can’t just skim through all the details that you get and expect it to work. You need to take your time when you are going through all the information and properly digest it.

My suggestion would be to spread the length of course for The Power of Conversational Hypnosis over several days. If you tried to rush and get through all the information at once, then you are highly unlikely to digest it. I spread the course out over a week and learnt what I needed to bit by bit.

I think that it is also important to note that The Power of Conversational Hypnosis course will not immediately turn you into one of those hypnotists you see on TV. These sorts of hypnotists have taken years to perfect what they do and simply taking this course will not turn you into someone like them.

Whilst it isn’t possible to become like the professionals, you will be able to influence another person’s thoughts and decisions to suit you more.

This course is a really good explanation of the workings of the brain and what seemingly simple things can do to influence it in a big way. The course will show you how to speak to people in a way that makes them relate to you more.

To sum up, I would definitely recommend purchasing The Power of Conversational Hypnosis, I have successfully implemented the handy techniques that I have learned from it and I can honestly say that it is the best course for learning conversational hypnosis around.

Weight Loss Does Happen

November 12th, 2009 by Patrick Glancy, BCH

Diet and weight is everywhere. It is at the grocery store, in magazines, and sometimes right in your back yard as a fast food restaurant. Our society constantly obsesses over weight, food choices and exercise, so why then is America so overweight? The answer is simple, losing weight is hard. People are over weight for many reasons, portion control, food choices, lack of motivation for exercise, or emotional attachments to food. There is help out there for anyone who wants it.

Think about the last thing you ate, think about how many portions were in that item. Portions are difficult to understand for many people. The average person doesn’t know what a proper serving size is, so we guess, often that guess is wrong. Think about this, one package of Ramen actually contains two servings. Who would think you could actually get two servings out of that little bag! Understanding and controlling your portions is one of the most important things you will learn while losing weight.

Food choices can also be an obstacle on your path. Of course we would all love to eat anything we want and still be skinny but this is not possible for most. We need to decide what our body needs and what it wants. Often people have animosity toward “healthy foods”. You learn these negative associations with healthy food through repetition. Maybe someone close to you always bragged about eating a pound of bacon a day and lived to be a 100. However you learned this stigma is considered a learned behavior.

Some people think of exercise as something else on their list of things to do. The lack of motivation can be hard to over come without help. Exercise is a great way to regain metabolism which will aid you in weight loss. It is hard to get to the gym or go for a walk when you are unmotivated. The key is to learn why you are not motivated and how to fix it so you will like to do fun things like exercise or go for a long walk.

Some people who are over weight have emotional attachments to food. Maybe you eat when you are happy, sad, stressed or as a reward. Whatever the reason, this is an attachment. If you are using ice cream as a comfort food, the time has come for you to think about why you do this. Focus on what triggers the craving for ice cream, why you want it, and figure out how to change the response so you can continue losing weight. Identifying those triggers can be hard without help as they become so ingrained in us after a while.

According to the American Hypnosis Clinic, 93% of people recover after six session of hypnosis for weight loss. Hypnosis allows you to be in control and choose what foods you want to eat, when you want to eat them and how much of that food you will eat. You do not have to fight against a learned behavior or craving. You will simply choose whether or not you want to eat the food or do the exercise. It will deal with emotional triggers, by identifying what the trigger is and help you to have a different reaction. Hypnosis can also help you to have new cravings such as exercise and make you want to lead a healthier, happier life. This about it, after six sessions, food will no longer rule your life.

By losing weight and exercising you will feel happier, healthier, and more energized. Losing weight should be enjoyable, fun and easy. It doesn’t have to be a chore or something else on your “to do” list. You should find yourself excited about your new life and the new you. There are many weight loss plans out there, you need to decide what is right for you and your lifestyle. Your new life awaits you.

Hypnosis Download

November 11th, 2009 by Sara Mendez

A hypnotic state can be achieved many different ways. Simply watching TV or driving can be considered a hypnotic state. However it becomes difficult to produce this state on command. Learning to slip into this state on your own takes time, training and practice. There are many products online which offer to teach you hypnosis, however you may find it best to have a few sessions before purchasing costly materials.

Figuring out how your mind and body will react to hypnosis is critical and why an actual session is recommended first. Since we are all different, our bodies and mind will react differently than another. Some feel “tingly” or like they are floating while under hypnosis. The mind may feel numb or blank while you are under. Others might not feel these things what so ever. For first timers who have not been hypnotized, you might be unsure of what you are supposed to feel which can be intimidating.

Private sessions will help you understand how your mind works through personal issues. Sometimes while under you might uncover and issue you didn’t know you had. It might be happy or traumatic and you may not know how you will react to this. Not everyone reacts or has the same experiences. Some people may relive a tragic event in their past while having a one on one session. This can be unnerving if it happens at home and you are alone. If you have a one on one session, the hypnotist is able to help you work through the issue instead of dealing with it yourself.

Progress is the ultimate result we all want. A professional will provide a plan and a tracking method so you can see hypnosis is working. Not everyone is the same and the hypnotist can formulate a program and talk with the client about their progress and if need be, change the plan. Progressing in treatment is important, if you are not seeing progress, it becomes more difficult to stay with the program.

By using both online products and individual session you can increase your progress. The CD’s DVD’s can help you learn to put yourself in a hypnotic state quickly while you are at home. This will make it easier once you start your individual session. You will also understand how it feels to be hypnotized and how your mind reacts. Once you are at your one on one session you will not be nervous about being put under making the session more useful. For the time between sessions the CD’s help clients to continue practicing and help them to maintain their progress.

Some might feel the private sessions are a waste of time and money when they can be home and by products online for less. While it may be true, the online products are cheaper, private sessions are invaluable for complete and successful advancement. One on one sessions are tailor made for each persons individual progress and personality. The CD’s are helpful for maintenance.

Try it out you have nothing to lose. Talk with your hypnotist about the CD’s or DVD’s you found online. Try a private session and see how you feel afterward. There are many different ways of being hypnotized and the best way all depends on you. So do your research but think about the importance of a personalized session before making the decision to not try it at all. The choice is yours, but don’t short yourself.

Stopping smoking can be tough. Make it easier with a quit smoking hypnotherapy program from Quick Hypnosis!

Stress Management – For Your Life

November 8th, 2009 by Sara Mendez

Learning to manage stress is vital to leading a healthy happy life. You are as unique as your body’s reaction to stress, everyone is different. Stress is how the body responds to outside situations and problems. Sometimes these situations become out of control and your body responds by developing health problems or by lashing out emotionally. It is trying to make you stop the stress. You might develop high blood pressure, ulcers, or have a heart attack. Sometimes the response is different, you might be angry, aggressive or overly sensitive. Only by learning to control both the stress trigger and your response to it, will you be able to have complete stress management skills.

Triggers can be many things. It could be something that happened to you immediately such as physical danger, getting ready for a date or an accident. These are situations that happen and are over quickly. The stress will get you on your toes but will return to a normal feeling quickly. Then there is long term stress such as a divorce, moving to a new neighborhood or planning a wedding. Long term stress can wear on the body and cause many health issues, some of which very serious.

Dealing with the triggers is important for managing stress. You need to pin point what is causing stress and figure out how to eliminate it or at least many it more tolerable. Most people know what the trigger is, but others have trouble identifying them. Hypnosis can assist you in discovering the trigger and help you learn how to deal with it. It is one of the most effective ways of dealing with stress as it deals not only with the trigger but your response to the trigger.

The body’s reaction to stress is different for everyone. Stress can be the cause of low work performance, sleep deprivation, or other addictions such as alcoholism, drugs and smoking. Your body might respond through skin breakouts, grinding your teeth, a panic attack or a low immune system. Just having some of these problems can lead to even more stress. Most people want to lead a happy and peaceful life free of stress.

Hypnosis will allow you to face your stress and its triggers head on instead of bottling it up. You will learn to relax your mind and breathing which will give your body a break that it needs. Hypnosis can help you avoid chronic problems caused by stress. You will learn to manage your stress in a healthy manor. Others may choose other ways of dealing with stress, such as medication, counseling or exercise but they are not dealing directly with the trigger and response. Hypnosis will address all of these things, it will even help you in other areas of your life that might cause you more stress such as weight loss, self confidence and fears.

With all the research and studies being done on stress and stress management, there have been many new discoveries and theories on what works best for stress reduction. The decision is yours. You need to decide what method will work best for you and your lifestyle. I would not delay. Stress is something we are all going to have in our lives at some point. The sooner you decide what is right for you, the sooner stress will be eliminated.

Stress Relief in Under 10 Minutes

November 7th, 2009 by Sara Mendez

What makes your stress worse? Your job? Money? Moving? Love or lack of it? Physical or emotional pain? Your in-laws?

Is the bulk of your stress because of current situations in your life or is it based off of previous events in your life? It’s likely you understand what I mean by this, and the answer is sometimes hard to find.

It’s common sense that managing and reducing stress can prevent many problems. Problems with general health, potential addiction, and more. Preventing these problems with stress management methods is much less costly and more comfortable than dealing with the results.

I know you wouldn’t choose to have problems with your blood pressure, heart, or trouble sleeping. But, ignoring your stress is very close to doing just that.

Many people with high stress look to avoid the discomfort by looking for things to make them feel “better”. If you’re hot, you want to be cool, if you’re cold, you want to be warm. When feeling stress, you might look for short term relief like watching TV, movies, prescription medications, cigarette smoking, eating, and other addictions.

People tend to believe traditional talk therapy and medications are the only alternatives, and try to avoid that. If you knew there was a reliable and medically tested method to relieve stress, would you consider it?

Of course you would, if it really works.

Like most people, you have probably watched TV or a movie to help you relax. Does it help? Yeah. It gives you a distraction. Something else to focus on and think about, right? But there really isn’t much “thinking” going on… it just indirectly creates a more quiet state of mind – for a while.

People get this state of mind with creative visualization, breathing exercises, yoga, meditation and deep prayer.

All ways to create the mental state technically known as hypnosis. Very little practice will let anyone easily and quickly achieve this nice state of mind. The same state you sometimes get while reading a book or talking on the phone.

Hypnosis is a state of mind everyone goes into several times a day. Hypnotizing yourself, on purpose, is so easy to do and is so beneficial to your stress and health in general.

I’m a hypnotist, so what do you expect me to say, right? The National Library of Medicine has a site, ww.pubmed.gov where you can search for medical studies on hypnosis and stress. Please remember, these are trained doctors doing hypnosis, not trained hypnotists. The results can be even better than they find.

Physical and mental stress relief of over 50% is possible in under 10 minutes. Honest.

Getting help from an appropriately trained hypnotist or using a quality self-hypnosis audio to reduce general stress are perfect alternatives. They have a higher rate of long-term success than medication and hypnosis has no potential for side-effects.

Please note: While hypnosis has been an approved by the American Medical Association since 1958, it does not replace conventional medicine.

The most modern hypnosis techniques available in this quit smoking hypnotherapy download available from Quick Hypnosis!
