Logical Offsetting–”A Disguised Hypnosis Power-move”

Even though Disguised Hypnosis is packed with persuasion techniques from start to finish, one of its popular techniques is called “Logical Offsetting”. There are endless variations of this technique, but for now let’s focus on the basic foundations of it.

First, a persuasion artist needs to understand that “logical offsetting” is part of what Disguised Hypnosis refers to as the “Insurance Game”. The Insurance game is a powerful game that a persuasion artist can play to nullify any resistance that a potential opponent may confront the persuasion artist with.

To be able to logically offset any of your opponents, you first must acquire leverage. Then, you use your leverage as “insurance” against your opponent to “logically offset” his resistance.

Without doubt, Logical Offsetting is secretive and is only intentionally practiced by trained persuasion artists, but this doesn’t mean that people don’t perform this technique unknowingly. Logical Offsetting has an even more powerful effect when its combined with other secretive strategies. When strategies are combined by the persuasion artist, this is called, “layering” or “stacking”.

“Stacking” is when the persuasion artist stacks several weak layers of persuasion skills and techniques one on top of the other to create what is known in the underground world as “The “invincible effect”. Among many things, The invincible effect states that when something could be resisted that it will not be resisted because too many factors are involved for the person to say no.

This advanced thought process is one of the many things that causes Disguised Hypnosis to remain a superior persuasion product. Obviously it is important to make a good first impression when meeting someone and creating any kind of relationship with them. Whether you agree or disagree, people will judge you – in a positive or negative way – based solely on those first moments of meeting you. As a matter of fact, some may even decide whether or not to continue a dialogue with you based solely on those first few moments of that first hello.

Try following these quick and easy techniques to give you the best chances of success.

Your Line of Sight

People are usually more comfortable looking into each others eyes. If you’ve ever had a conversation with someone who wouldn’t look directly at you, you know how anxious it can make you feel. People want to see whom they’re talking to.

Even further, studies have shown that most people favor a direct line from the right eye – even more so than the left. When you want to achieve maximum communication, be sure to look them right in the eye literally.

Reflect

You’ve likely heard the cliche that people like those who are like themselves. Its true. We are most comfortable with people who talk the same, act the same, and share the same values as we do.

In hypnosis we use a technique called mirroring. It simply means that you try to match a persons behavior. If they are leaning forward, you lean forward. If they are breathing shallow, you breathe shallow. If they are speaking fast, you match their pace. And so forth.

There are literally reams of books available on mirroring; its a bigger topic that this article will allow. However, simply keep in mind that the more you are like the person you’re talking to, the more likely it is there will be a connection.

God Gave You Two Ears and Only One Mouth

Some would argue that this means we should listen twice as much as we talk, and although this is usually true, it is not always the case (our earlier described job interview as a case and point.)

But the key is not merely to listen, but to actively listen. This means actually paying attention to what the other person is saying and responding accordingly. Its easy to fall into the trap of not really paying attention and instead focusing on what you are going to say next.

And try not to interpret. A lot of times we will filter a speaker’s words through our own experiences, and not really understand what they said. This can lead to a misunderstanding or worse. Really listen to what a speaker says and even repeat it back if you need to for clarification.

The saying goes that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

The hardest part is to figure out what you want that as a different result. Anyone can complain about something they don’t like.

Once you figure out what you want, it’s a simple process of backward planning. What skills do you need to get your outcome? What habits will lead you there?

You probably know that pretty much all successful people have certain habits. Unsuccessful people have habits too. The difference is that successful people are deliberate about their habits. They plan their habits and their routine. Unsuccessful people get into a routine that keeps them occupied but never accomplishing worthy goals.

If you want to change you need a different routine. That’s when you can reasonably expect different results.

Let’s say you want to learn a foreign language. What does that require? You got it, deliberate practice. You need to build some amount of time into your daily routine so that it becomes a habit and eventually a skill. If you want to persuade others to change, you need to present a context where it makes sense to them to do that.

Buying a product or service for the first time is change. They didn’t spend that money that way before. For you to encourage that, you need to show them how they’ll be making a change for the better by doing business with you.

And if you can cultivate a relationship with your customers so that buying with you becomes a habit, you’ll do well for yourself. All this takes structure. It’s either habits or a deliberate planning for the outcome you want. You have to see the end you want to achieve before you’ll be able to get it.

The Truth About Conversational Hypnosis

Good communication is probably the cornerstone of every kind of human relationship and it can be a very powerful tool sometimes. A great example for this is with conversational hypnosis.

Conversational hypnosis is basically the alteration of ones initial perception in order to lead to the solution of an outstanding problem like a fear. Just like any form of communication, conversational hypnosis relies on the concept of interaction.

A session of conversational hypnosis usually starts with a stage called the affinity. Hypnosis only works if there is rapport that exists between the hypnotist and the patient. This rapport is fostered with the hypnotist expressing to the patient that he empathizes with the patient.

Take for example we have a case of an agoraphobic person. This person has an inexplicable fear of crowds and the hypnotist is trying to coax him out of that situation. When the patient tells the hypnotist that it is hard, the hypnotist should reply with something along the lines of I know it is hard.

After the hypnotist has established rapport with the patient, they can now delve deeper into the process of conversational hypnosis through distraction. This stage of the hypnosis involves the patient trying to sway the mind of the patient to think of something else other than the problem.

The hypnotist usually asks several questions to successfully allow the patient to think of something else.

Still using the same kind of scenario that I mentioned earlier, the hypnotist can try to make the patient think of something else other than his fear of people by asking what it would feel like if he was to live all alone in the entire earth?. Although the question may not be logical but it is effective in distracting the patient.

Once the patient as his mind off his problem, the hypnotist can start suggesting different ideas and thoughts that lead to the solution of the problem.

Like the hypnotist can start telling the patient what life would be like if he started getting comfortable with people.
