Change Your Life In Seven Days – Will NLP Work For You?

September 3rd, 2010 by Roxanne Wehr

NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. It characterizes the management of thoughts and feeling provoked through language, both spoken and body language. Self help practitioners such as Paul McKenna, author of Change Your Life in Seven Days, use NLP because of it’s powerful influence on negative habits.

Try this for an experiment. With a friend close by, text them this message.

Scratch off lottery tickets were Your favorite. Who Knows what that is now.

Now make sure you capitalize the words scratch, your and knows. They have to stand out just a little bit. What you’ve done is embedded the command, scratch your nose, to your friend. Knows and nose are phonetically ambiguous, so don’t worry about that. Did your friend scratch their nose?

How people respond to communication is what NLP is all about. NLP practitioners use observations to determine which communications prompt the desired outcome and which ones don’t. New communication patterns are then developed for the patient. Programs such as stop smoking and losing weight utilize principles of NLP to create new responses to external influences.

When you communicate to other people, you communicate using your body, eyes, tone of voice, pace of speech and the speed of your breath. Many times not all of these are congruent and we end up sending multiple messages. Sometimes these messages actually conflict with what our verbal intent. What if you could get all these parts of your body and mind in sync and communicate what you really mean?

Like the desperate sales person trying to sell the client but the client has clued in on the anxiety and becomes guarded. The frustrated husband trying desperately not to lose his temper, but the wife reads the tenseness in his hands and begins to pace the house nervously. What about the insecure student who’s teacher reads his shyness as insubordination and manages to alienate him further from learning?

With miscommunication everyone loses. People picked up poor communication patterns through unsuccessful interactions with friends and family. They are destructive and at best unproductive.

NLP has to do with communication intent. It’s a set of descriptions of what works and what doesn’t. Now every individual has a different set that works for them, so there is no one set that everyone can refer to. But, with NLP, you can heighten you awareness of yourself and communication habits by reading the shifts in behavior in others. How others respond provide the feedback of the way you communicate. Can you imagine, one, figuring out how to the brain responds to language tactics and then, two, skillfully using language (like Cesar Millan with dogs) to work with clients, your parents, your partner and the kids?

Be the person you want to be because the longest journey begins right where you stand. Roxanne has the Easy NLP and Hypnosis Workbook. Start using it today.

Educating Yourself On How Hypnosis Works And How To Hypnotize Anyone

April 21st, 2010 by Rich Thorne

Hypnosis is a healing technique that has been practiced in different civilizations of the world for centuries. The healing treatment is initiated while a person is hypnotized. Scientists have not figured out the exact method of how hypnosis works but they are beginning to understand some of things that happen to the brain while a person is under hypnosis. The process of how to hypnotize people is easy.

Hypnosis is the foundation for the styles of intervention used by psychologists today. Scientists have accepted hypnosis as an altered state of mind where a patient experiences heightened mental and physical relaxation. This state intensifies communication between the conscious and subconscious minds. Hypnosis is also fully acknowledged as an effective treatment for healing and reaching one’s inner potential.

Scientists are still attempting to comprehend how hypnosis works, from different studies they have concluded that the left side of the brain which controls the ability to judge, analyze and synthesis, stops functioning. At that point, the right side which is the non-analytical part of the brain starts working harder. This causes the conscious mind to withdraw and the subconscious mind to awaken. With the subconscious mind alert, the patient can change their physical and behavioral state easier.

Hypnotized people are in a heightened mental state of mind. The person’s subconscious mind is highly open to suggestion but this does mean they lose their free will or moral judgment. Studies have shown that they actually become aggressive problem solvers.

It is not hard to hypnotize a person, here are some steps to quickly put someone in a trance. Direct the person to lie down, then speak to them in a low, soothing voice. Direct them to take deep breathes and with each breath go deeper into a state of relaxation. Walk them through relaxing every body part, whisper directions such as “Can you feel your arms, now relax them.” As they relax each part of their body give them positive reinforcement.

Each person’s behavior is different so some may take longer than other to put into a hypnotic state. When they are hypnotized they will show signs such as irregular breathing, twitching fingers or arms or fluttering eyes. You can give them commands and they should follow them. To awaken them out of the trance, count backwards and tell them that when you say the number one they are to wake up. That is the easiest method of how to hypnotize people.

Using NLP Training To Build Your Confidence

April 8th, 2010 by Ian Spire

Much of the world suffers from low self esteem in some way or another, however it affects some much worse than others. Some people don’t like the way they look, some don’t have any faith in their abilities at all and any thoughts like that are a sign of low self esteem and confidence. There are many negative effects of low self esteem on your life both at home and in work. These are very difficult issues to tackle and cannot be sorted out immediately.

An NLP training course can help you some of the way though. It gives you one on one sessions with qualified practitioners and this gives you therapy across all of your life. This includes building up damaged confidence.

It does so in a number of ways, in the first instance by removing self-imposed restrictions. it teaches that we, as humans, place limits on ourselves. We do this every single time we tell ourselves, subconsciously or otherwise, that we ‘could never do that,’ or ‘aren’t good enough,’ to achieve that.’ It teaches us how to remove those limits and thus improve confidence.

Leadership skills are another key feature – you learn how to inspire confidence in other people which then helps to improve your own confidence. You cannot be a good leader unless you have total confidence in yourself. You will be taught exactly how to find your confidence in a leadership form, and that can only help to bring confidence in other areas as well.

Another confidence booster of such a course is the qualification you get at the end. This will lead to an immense sense of achievement, which will in turn give your confidence a boost! You can also make yourself more employable by adding the qualification to your CV! The satisfaction you will receive from completing a difficult course will improve your confidence further as well!

Program Your Mind With Custom Made Subliminal Messages

December 16th, 2009 by Trevor Johnson

You can achieve your goals and live a positive life with custom made subliminal messages. The messages are like a life script. You can use subliminal messages to confront any situation and to boost your moral. Sounds are used to achieve the effect. The sounds are packed in an album, just like a normal music CD.

It is easy to create messages. Effective messages that penetrate the subconscious mind can give you a positive view of life. The messages are more effective when they are custom made. This means that they should relate to your needs. With custom-made messages, you can manipulate your thoughts to your advantage. Irrational beliefs that you have been holding for many years can be changed and maladjusted behaviours can be extinguished. The goal of these messages is to help you fulfil your desires and goals. They are an aid to achievement motives.

Basically, subliminal messages are delivered step by step. First, you have what is called a ‘programming track’. As the name suggests, the track is a sound or music track that programs positive thoughts in your subconscious through meditation. A person needs to relax during this process. The programming soundtracks are delivered in four phases. The soundtracks contain both high and normal frequencies.

It’s impossible for the conscious mind to read raw subliminal messages. However, studies have shown that a person can detect subliminal messages via the eardrum, but they must be interpreted into a language that is understood by the brain. Thus, they can reach the subconscious directly.

Put simply, subliminal messages are goals, wishes, desires and affirmation that are sent as sound or music signals to the subconscious.

The function of the activator track is to facilitate programming. In order to activate programming of subliminal messages, the person must listen to the activator track. The person must not be busy during this time.

As in the programming track, a person’s goals are integrated in the subliminal messages they listen to. The frequencies are vary from high to normal. However, the activator uses special music that is used to trigger programming.

Neuro Linguistic Programming can be introduced in the two forms of messages. This programming helps the person to behave properly.

Is There A Secret To How Subliminal Messages Work?

December 10th, 2009 by Trevor Johnson

Before we can answer the question how do subliminal messages work we must learn a little about subliminal messages. What are subliminal messages, and do they work at all?

The only kind of subliminal message that has been proven to work involves showing very brief text or a simple picture to an audience so briefly they do not consciously perceive it. Other kinds of subliminal messaging has been tried, but there is no evidence that it has any effect. Flashing anything longer than a word or two, or playing recorded speech backwards doesn’t work.

Subliminal messages are messages that are conveyed to the subconscious mind instead of the conscious. Usually this takes the form of showing a picture to people for no more than several milliseconds. This is faster than the conscious brain can perceive, but the subconscious perceives it, and it can effect a person’s behavior.

Researchers have done experiments about subliminal messaging in an attempt to learn how it works. In one experiment there was a very quick name of a soft drink written in the midst of a short movie. After watching the movie, those who had been subliminally messaged were more likely to choose that soft drink than those who had watched a different movie. In another experiment the word “beef” was the subliminal message. After this experiment, the subjects did not prefer beef over other foods, but they were hungrier than the control group was.

There are now companies that market subliminal messages as a way to increase your health or self esteem. They sell tapes that have audio messages recorded backwards. Studies have not shown this to have any effect on the users’ self esteem.

Even though some types of subliminal messaging does have an effect, there is no need to worry about what it might make you do. For one thing, companies do not use subliminal advertising on TV or in movies. Even if they did, they could never convince you to do something against your will. They might be able to influence your choice of one brand over another, but they could never make you do something you might not do anyway.

How To Use Hypnotherapy Successfully

December 5th, 2009 by Trevor Johnson

When I told my friends that I was going to visit a hypnotherapist they all turned their heads and laughed. They thought hypnotherapy was going to turn me into a zombie that would be used to rob a bank. I must admit though, I had the same inherent fear based on what I had seen on TV about hypnotists. But I later realized that it is nothing like on TV and it is even used to treat other conditions like panic attacks; stress and racial hatred. In this article I will briefly show you how to use hypnotherapy to cure post traumatic stress.

One problem with getting the most out of hypnotherapy is the perception of hypnosis. A lot of people innocently believe that a person using hypnotherapy will be led into a deep sleep and forced to do things they don’t want to do. But this is not the case and thinking like this will prevent you from getting the most out of hypnotherapy.

When you’re going to use hypnotherapy it is very important that you know exactly what the problem is. Tell your hypnotist this and ensure he is well versed to the very last detail. Not doing this will result in the improper application of techniques since there are different forms of hypnosis for different predicaments.

Hypnotherapy doesn’t help much if you don’t put into practice what your therapist told you. The very moment you leave the hypnotherapist you should immediately begin putting everything into practice so that you perfect yourself in an area of your life you’re not exactly happy with.

You’ve probably noticed by now how comfortable and relaxed subjects are during sessions. You must try really hard to be calm and relaxed, nervousness will put you on the back trot. Be sure to forget common myths about hypnosis and trust that the hypnotist will carry out an honest job, as always. Being worried and skeptical will delay your progress.

Focus and don’t be moved by thoughts that spin into motion in your head. During hypnotherapy you must eliminate any distracting thoughts; all of those should be left at home because you won’t be able to focus.

For more about how to use hypnotherapy take a look at these real hypnosis secrets.

Do Subliminal Messages Really Work – Subliminals And The Subconscious Mind

December 3rd, 2009 by Trevor Johnson

Do subliminal messages really work? This might be one of the most common questions that you’d ask once you hear about this topic. These so-called messages which communicate with your subconscious mind have been used in therapies, marketing and advertising, which makes it quite useful when it comes to communicating to a particular target audience.

Subliminals are messages which are directed to your subconscious mind. This simply means that you do not have any perception of these messages passing through your senses – they simply go straight right up into your mind directly, without any conscious recognition of them on your part.

Most people believe that marketers have used subliminal messages to market their products. They may insert various words in video which are so fast that only the subconscious mind tends to remember it. Others say that some audio tracks have certain messages hidden beneath the audible range of the human ear, making only the subconscious mind hear these messages.

However, as you know more, you tend to ask once again: do subliminal messages really work? The answer should be yes, they do work. Some people do not say that it works because they do not feel it working. How can you feel something which works if you do not perceive? Only by experiments in controlled environments can tell that they do actually work.

This is why subliminal messages, aside from marketing promotions and products, have been used in therapy sessions, as well. They could help people to improve their personalities, overcome psychological problems and other things related with the mental thinking. Subliminal messages may be hidden in pictures, videos and audio, so that patients are not aware of subliminal messages hidden from their conscious mind, but is in fact already understood and grasped by their mind through the subconscious.

These subliminal messages’ powers could be used for the better, and to help people with psychological powers. By directing these messages into the mind, messages are then absorbed by it – without the need to go through the consciousness.

Get more information about how subliminal messages work and take a look at how to make subliminal messages yourself.

NLP Rewind Technique – Take Charge Of Your Life Now!

November 29th, 2009 by Trevor Johnson

The worst thing in life is having a phobia or fear for something, which absolutely paralyzes you so much so, that you live a debilitated life. Luckily there is help on the horizon in the name of nlp rewind technique.

It has been around for a while and is very popular with modern doctors today. The word NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming which helps us to visualize, rewind and correct the problems we face with fears and phobias. Researchers and doctors alike say that we fixate on a trauma by replaying it over and over in our minds until the past event is now in our present always.

An interesting case surfaced the other day about a woman who was petrified to drive a car.

Janet, who is 40 years old, married with two children has never sat behind a wheel of a car because when she was a young girl she tragically lost her brother in a car accident. She was really afraid to drive because she convinced herself that she would also die if she drove a car. She would reply on many people to shuttle her back and forth in her life, but would never dare driving herself.

After a long discussion with her therapist they both decided on the rewind technique. Here is a brief summary of what transpired at her sessions:

At the beginning of the session she was asked to relax and do some breathing exercises. When she felt totally relaxed the therapist instructed her to visualize a cinema with a comfortable seats, a big screen, lots of popcorn and candy around her and that she is going to star in a fantastic movie. This movie is going to be about her trauma and it will be in lots of detail. She also had to make her movie in black and white so the mind can relate to the old problem. She was then asked to start the movie with her first memory of the accident.

Once this memory would manifest, she was then asked to get up from her chair and stand in a spot where she could observe herself watching her movie. It was sort of an out of body visualization technique. She would then have to observe her feelings, emotions and facial expressions in detail.

Now that she is standing away from her movie and not playing in it, she was asked to slowly change aspects of the movie as it happened. It was suggested that she maybe change the black white into technicolor, and also to add her favorite song to it. Every time she would do this, she would rewind the movie and place an object in it. She could change anything in the movie as long as it is positive and rewind it has many times as she wished.

She was in control and nothing bad happened in her new movie. She repeated the rewinding a few times and has successfully taken her drivers test and is now mobile for the first time in her life, by applying the nlp rewind technique and changing her future for the better.

Discover more about the NLP rewind technique and find out how you can use it to cure phobias fast.
